I am still singing the song James sang by The Muse, only not as good and in a much lower tone. I tried to hit that note he does once and only once. I had a sore throat for days, a headache, and I think my son, by the look on his face (who is only 6 months old and is not used to hearing horrible sounds) actually thought to himself “has this woman lost her mind?”
Yes, James is one of my favorites but I have been a true fan of Casey since the first time he performed with his bass. But James is a “Superstar!!” (said while in a lunge position with jazz hands). James may very well win this entire shindig. Or may be truly victorious and have a better career by not winning.
Performance night left an impression on me. Mainly via The Durbin. Although I also enjoyed getting to know the remaining contestants better by watching them give their best impressions of each other. Scotty is a funny dude. If only there were sound bites so you could actually hear me say “Scotty” in my deep man voice every time (and I mean every time) I say (type) his name. Not in a scary House Bunny Anna Faris kind of way but in a deep-if-I-was-a-man-although-I-look-like-a-woman kind of way. Confused? So sorry. Just use your imagination.
Scotty is growing on me more and more each week. He is mature beyond his years and I just like him. Doesn’t hurt that he is a North Carolinian like me. He is talented, and he and Casey may very well make redheads sexy.
Speaking of Casey, he did his thing this week, proving that the judges save was a good one. Plus he snuck a little kiss on Jennifer. He is staying true to who he is – a jazzy soulful kat meets grimy rocker dude = a truly unique artist. That’s why I like him so much. I support the unique.
And speaking of unique (Such good segways this week…), my main man Paul came back with the other cast-offs for an opening act and showed me that he is better ALONE. His voice sounded quite awkward with the gals. And the gals sounded good until he joined them. Just not good enough to miss them. Or want an encore.
After a “remember me?” performance, the results were in and the three I thought should have hit bottom did – Stefano, Jacob, and Haley – only I just knew Lucky Langone would be lucky yet again and Jacob would be voted off. Wrong I was!!! Stefano’s luck ran out this week and he was sent home. James on the other hand took it real hard, crying on the sidelines while the camera guy followed his every move (and every tear). The way he embraced Stefano at the end of his final performance showed that they will be friends long after Idol is over. And it made me like James even more.
James tweeted just recently that he LOVES his wife… and as a wife myself, I love a guy who feels it, says it, and blasts it to the world openly.
Stefano’s final performance was a good one. He put his heart into it and made those who didn’t vote for him scratch their heads.
Speaking of scratching heads (I’m on a segway roll folks…), I did just that while watching Katy Perry’s performance. I love her, but I kept feeling like I was watching Lady Gaga. I prefer the colorful, Fireworks and I kissed a girl and I liked it Katy, not the extraterrestrial one. And I can do without Kanye. Although he does quite look like Elliot from ET.
There is no telling who will go home next week. Jacob is going to bring his A Game and take us back to Church, Haley shines when she chooses the right song (and the right outfit…loved the retro-style red dress), Scotty has the many loyal country music fans on his side, and Lauren has all of the teeny-bopper fans who vote for two hours straight. Just please America, whatever you do, don’t send James or Casey home. Without them (and Mr. Tyler who seems to enjoy dropping the F-bomb), the show will be just a show. Let’s keep rock and jazz ALIVE!
Until next time…

My technology did not work last week. So I missed the show. Thanks for keeping me informed & grinning.
